Ron Oliver is a Licensed Professional Counselor working in the Recovery Works program at CrescentCare. Ron attended Louisiana Tech University, where he earned an undergraduate degree in psychology, and a master’s degree in counseling. Though not a native New Orleanian, he has made New Orleans his home. Ron approaches therapy from a cognitive behavioral standpoint, utilizing modalities such as motivational interviewing and rational-emotive behavior therapy. He enjoys working with people who have experienced various mental and behavioral health issues, such as substance use disorder, trauma – especially religious trauma, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. When he is not working, Ron spends his time reading, learning about all things spiritual and religious, and hanging out with his kids and cats.
