Jeffrey Coco, MD
Dr. Jeffrey Coco brings over three decades of expertise in infectious diseases and HIV management to his practice. A graduate of LSU Medical School in 1985, Dr. Coco’s passion for infectious diseases led him to pursue specialty training at Ochsner, where he honed his skills in transplant infections, HIV management, and general infectious diseases.
Early in his career, Dr. Coco served at LSU in the Department of Infectious Disease, dedicating himself to the care of patients in the adult contagion unit, a pivotal period during the AIDS epidemic. His commitment to patient care and groundbreaking research in HIV management earned him recognition within the medical community.
Transitioning to private practice, Dr. Coco continued his mission to improve the lives of those affected by infectious diseases. He played a pivotal role in HIV medication trials, contributing to advancements in treatment protocols. Additionally, he served as a mentor, providing invaluable training to medical students, residents, and fellows in infectious diseases.
Following a distinguished administrative tenure at Touro/LCMC, Dr. Coco joined Crescent Care in 2020, initially as a board member before assuming a clinical role. At Crescent Care, he focuses on providing compassionate care to patients living with HIV, leveraging his wealth of experience to improve patient outcomes and enhance quality of life.
